"The Happiest Place on Earth"
When recently in LA at the MDRT conference myself and two other mates from NZ managed to squeeze in some time to get to Disneyland - man it was fun.
As a kid growing up in Manurewa, South Auckland, I recall my dream of one day going to Disneyland. It seemed so far away.
I have been once before about five years ago with my wife and daughter which was fantastic to experience as a family. I think what was great about it then was sharing the dream with my daughter. As a parent, it does not get much better than that.
This time around was also great - but different. It was like I was a little kid again living out my dream. There were times where I literally stopped to take it all in and remind myself where I was - Living the dream!
We had a fantastic day riding the roller coaster, 'Tower of Terror', 'Pirates of the Caribbean' and 'Soaring over California' to name a few.
Also a couple of photo snaps with Minnie Mouse and Pluto went down well. Seeing the fireworks display above the famous Disneyland Castle was also a highlight.

I guess my main takeaway from the Disneyland visit hit me as we were walking out and I turned around to glance over my shoulder. I saw that eight year old kid in Manurewa dreaming of one day getting to the "happiest place on earth" and here I was.
