When it comes to getting ready for an 'overseas' holiday, whether it be another country or the South Island there's a lot of planning to do. Once all the planning is taken care of, anticipation set's in (let's face it that's often the best part) - the lure of fun, new experiences, places to see and people to meet.
Taking care of the little details allows you to make the most of your trip - flights & accommodation, local currency, travel insurance (a must) and making sure you have all the right visa's, as well as a current passport.
Getting to and from the airport is also a detail that needs sorting. There are several options:
- getting dropped off by a friend or family member (though no one seems that keen on those 5am drop offs or pick-ups)
- catching a bus or shuttle
- self- driving and parking in the long term carpark or parking close to the airport and catching a shuttle cover
- Booksmart Car Storage (my personal favourite)
We were recommended to use these guys about 18 months ago and now we use them whenever we travel. Even for a few days in Wellington, it's a great option.
I love it because it is so easy.
How does it work?
- Send a quote or booking request
- Confirm your booking and pay online
- Pull up to the public drop off area right outside the domestic or international terminal
- Take out your luggage, hand over your keys - and you are away!
The reverse applies when you come home - you'll be meet in the arrivals hall, and your car will be waiting - then you can drive yourself home.
When it's over, it's over - and home is the only place you want to be, without any hassle.
