The Hub of Halloween

Written by Tania Young | Oct 31, 2013 11:00:00 AM

When one of the ladies at my yoga class said that her street really got into Halloween, I was a bit sceptical. We have the occasional kid bash on the door every year, demanding sugary goodness, but it never really took off in my neighbourhood. Now I know the reason why - apparently, a few streets over from my house is the hub of Halloween.

It was like Ponsonby's Franklin Road at Christmas, on steroids.  There would have been hundreds of kids and parents dressed up, wandering the streets and trick or treating.  The street was lined with cars -it has obviously become an attraction to those not living in the area.  At one point I overheard a little girl getting out of the car ask her mum why they were there - mum's reply "everyone knows that this is the street to come to for Halloween".

So, if you wanting the whole Halloween experience next year, head over to Alexander Ave in Torbay - you won't be disappointed!!

We received this in our letterbox yesterday afternoon - what a great idea!!
