Resolution Success

There is not one person I know that has never made a New Year's resolution. There are the classics - lose weight, stop smoking, spend less and organise my time more. Let's face it, interest in these little gems wanes after about the 21st of January (which incidentally, is my birthday).  So why not spice things up a bit, and challenge yourself with your resolutions this year…

Here's a list to get you started:

Finish a tube of Chapstick: this is probably more challenging than you think…but can you remember the last time you did it?

Get through an entire restaurant dinner without looking at your cell phone: go one better in a group - make the first person to crack pay the drinks bill.

Make the usual unusual: it's really easy to remain in your comfort zone - this is the difference between a routine, and a rut.  Spice up your life by endeavouring to do one thing differently once a week.  Wear a colour you never usually wear, order a fancy tea instead of your usual coffee, or use a different route to get to work.

Don't postpone your happiness: do you save things for "best"?  One day may never come, so enjoy the things you have now.  Swap your dingy comfy undies for some favourite silk ones, drink water from your finest crystal, and indulge in eye filet in the middle of the week.

Colour choice: have you had the same haircut for the past 5 years?  For one year, try changing your colour every 6 weeks.

Learn a new skill: One of my goals this year is to master doing a handstand- a skill I lost about 30 years ago, when fear (of falling on my head) became a reality.  Find something you can't do, then work out how to do it!

What other amazing New Year's Resolutions have you made for this year?
