Ladies, if you're stressed - read this!

I read this article with interest yesterday (and to be honest I found it a little depressing). As a professional working woman who is involved in my business (and yes often a little stressed) it seems bad news that this study has linked an increase in breast cancer rates with professional women.

The really bad news is that the study was from the 70's!

The pace of life has increased dramatically since the time of the study, coming up 40 years ago, and I wonder if the same study was repeated in our modern society what the results would be…actually I shudder to think.

This is yet again a reminder to all of us women out there that we need to slow down, take a breather, try not to overcommit ourselves (easier said than done I know)  and to realise that we aren't superwomen.  We've grown up in a society that leads us to believe that we can have it all, successful careers, relationships, families and all the bells and whistles - however if the price we pay is our health we've got to ask - is it worth it?

I've included links below to a couple of practical articles that offer up some good tips on how to de-stress - I particularly like the reminder to breathe.  From my own experience I can recommend taking a few deep breaths and concentrating on your breathing when the pressure is on - it's amazing what a difference it can make.

Go on, take 5 minutes, make a cuppa and have a read….
