If the worst happens

No one likes to think about it, but the reality is that approximately 150 children (from birth to 14 years) are diagnosed with cancer each year.  The good news is 80% of patients diagnosed with a childhood cancer are cured as a result of treatment. (source: kidshealth.org.nz)

How would your family survive both emotionally and financially if this happened to one of your children?

Did you know that you can insure your child against cancer and a range of other serious illnesses?  If they are diagnosed and survive 14 days you could receive a lump sum payment of up to $200,000.

At this awful time, a cash payment wouldn't change what was happening to your child, but it may mean you have more treatment options available (some you may need to pay for privately), you would be able to take time off work to spend with your child without stressing about paying the bills or you could use the money to take a family trip if that's what you wanted to do… it's completely up to you.

Under the children's trauma benefit, your child is covered for a range of medical illnesses (not just cancer).  This list includes (but is not limited to):

-       Meningitis

-       Major Head Trauma

-       Stroke

-       Burns

-       Brain Damage

-       Major Organ Transplant

-       Intensive Care

-       Blindness

-       Loss of Speech

-       Deafness

-       Terminal Illness

-       Encephalitis

-       Paralysis

-       Benign Tumour of the Brain or Spinal Cord

-       Chronic Kidney Failure

-       Loss of Limbs or Sight

-       Cardiomyopathy
