Give a little make a difference

Little Denon's story in the Weekend Herald touched my heart. This lovely little boy is facing losing his sight on two fronts - keratoconus and retinitis pigmentosa.

Denon needs urgent surgery for keratoconus to save his sight as soon as possible - unfortunately the public system is sadly lacking and has yet to help him.To everyone who doesn't feel that private health insurance is necessary this is a stand out example of why you do need it!

Denon has to 'qualify' in the public health system for surgery before he can progress to a waiting list - and while he waits his eyesight continues to deteriorate.

Imagine having to make a 'vision bucket list' for your child??  This makes me so, so sad…

I wonder how many people realise that this is how the public health system works… first you have to be sick enough to qualify to get into the public system and then you have to wait for treatment.

If Denon's family can raise enough funds he will have his surgery for Keratoconus privately and that will at least give him a chance to retain his sight while he waits for a cure for retinitis pigmentosa.

We've donated to help Denon and would urge you to help him if you can - every little bit helps.

Go to Give a little- everyone needs some help now and then and this brave little man could definitely use some.
