Blue September is a fun way to give kiwi blokes a really important message... face up to prostate cancer.
One in 10 New Zealand men will suffer from prostate cancer in their lifetime, and each year around 500 die from it.
Why? The typical kiwi "she'll be right" attitude, coupled with men simply not realising how common and dangerous the disease can be. The news is not all bad however; prostate cancer can be effectively treated if detected early.
A great way to get involved in Blue September this year is to go to the Blue September website and buy a Blue Kit or two. $20 gets you all you will need - including balloons, posters and face paint. Get your whole team involved and have a "Blue Day". Let a little silliness go a long way and support the men in your life this Blue September...
