Even though you think it isn't a claim, it might be!

At BRAVEday we process and look after a lot of claims for our clients - it's what 'BRAVEday' stands for and when we stand up.

We have dealt with several trauma claims in the last two months, where clients have contacted us straight away and let us know that they have been unwell.

This made me think back to a couple of trauma claims we have had in the past where two clients each received  payments over $350,000, but only after I went to see them for their annual review.

During the review discussion both clients advised they had had some medical issues in the previous 12 months.   Neither of them were what the clients considered life threatening so they didn't bother to let us know.

One client had had prostate cancer and the other the removal of a small cancerous growth on a saliva gland.  Relatively minor operations were needed and life went on in both cases.

After these meetings we looked into each case further and claims were lodged.  The result - both claims were paid!

Trauma cover is a lump sum payment which is paid out upon suffering or being diagnosed with a medical condition that is covered by the policy and surviving 14 days.  From our experience with our clients most claims have been for:

  • Cancer
  • Heart Attack

Please remember, if there is a change in your health, always notify your insurance adviser.  You'd be surprised how often claims aren't made on policies as clients forget they have the cover or aren't aware that their condition is covered by their policy.

At BRAVEday we regularly review our clients so that we can stay in touch and up to date with changes in our client's lives.

It's important to note that any changes in your health that occur after your policy is issued will not affect your current insurance at all, so there is no risk in checking to see if you are covered.
