Movember is a charity event in which people can participate by growing a moustache and receive donations which raises funds for the awareness of specific men's health issues.

Movember was established in Australia in 2003 and is now a global movement with 21 countries participating.  Since its inception Movember has raised over $174 million worldwide after spreading into Europe, South Africa and America.

Big steps are being taken to bring men's health awareness up to the same levels as women's health movement.  The ultimate aim of Movember is to encourage conversations on specific matters which will ultimately result in regular check-ups and general awareness of men's health.

This year's event in New Zealand is supporting Cancer Society of New Zealand and the Mental Health Foundation of New Zealand and organisers are excited at participant numbers and revenue which have grown exponentially year on year.
