Being a Good Leader

Written by Dean Young | Jun 4, 2013 12:00:00 PM

For the business leaders out there - tips from Mark Bouris.

As part of the National Achievers Conference, Mark Bouris also covered being a leader.

I have looked over my notes many times since my time in Adelaide, and still feel inspired when I do.

  1. Remind yourself who you are, and why you are in business.
  2. What is your purpose?
  3. Have you ever failed in business before?  Why?  A good leader leads through the tough times.
  4. A good leader? Do people want to follow you?
  5. Work harder, longer, and treat people fairly.
  6. Be a good fighter - never give up!
  7. When you get really stressed, remind yourself to step back, stop and observe (disassociation).
  8. Throw your staff in - see how they handle it.

I could see instantly when Mark walked on stage, his charisma, poise and aura.  After listening to him for an hour and seeing this passion for people, business and success, I could see why he is a leader of thousands of peopleā€¦ 'a true business leader'.

I also had a chance meeting with Mark Bouris - it blew me away!
