Anything is possible

Last week we talked about remarkable women. This week, we'd like to highlight a remarkable story of tragedy turned into triumph: Yogawoman.

Yogawoman is a documentary film portraying the story of Seane Corn, a cancer survivor who now holds yoga classes for other survivors of cancer.

But she does more than that; she's founded an organisation called 'Off the Mat', encouraging women to get involved in third world development projects. Yoga is a common theme of the projects, including a programme that's changing the lives of young women in a youth detention centre in the USA.

This movie's no longer in theatres in New Zealand, but the official website says you'll be able to view it online soon. Can't wait!

And in a twist that we love (because we love innovation) this movie wasn't made and funded the traditional way, but instead through online social networking. Great to see that, whether it's cancer or lack of funding, nothing can stand in the way of the human spirit.
