5 reasons you shouldn't go to work next Monday

The importance of taking regular holidays . . .In a crazy busy world, we often chain ourselves to a desk, sacrificing our own health and wellbeing because we think that the company we work for (or own) will fall apart if we aren't there for a week or two.

Well, guess what? It won't.

There are tonnes of reasons why you should take a break - here are five:

Burnout:  People who take REGULAR time to relax (be it a week's holiday or just a long weekend), are less likely to burnout, making them more creative and productive than their overworked, under-rested workmates.

Health: Taking a break to 'recharge your batteries' keeps your stress levels lower, and your blood pressure in check.

Wellbeing: A recent study found that three days after a break, peoples complaints about aches and pains, quality of sleep and mood had all improved compared to before they went away.  The best news is that these gains were still evident five weeks later!

Job Performance:  An increased quality of life can lead to an increased quality of work on the job.  Think "Healthy Body, Healthy Mind".

Memories:  A change in environment, new experiences and quality time with (or without!) loved ones gives you more to deposit in your "memory bank".  This can at times be your saviour when you are back at work.

Have you planned your next break yet??
