North Shore Hospice provides a service to people with terminal
illnesses and their families. Skilled nurses, doctors and
counsellors work with the patient and their family to relieve pain
and distress, supporting caregivers in their home, or at the
Inpatient Unit.
We experienced Hospice's caring approach first-hand when Dean's
mother passed away from cancer. Hospice caregivers supported us in
caring for mum at home, and also helped write her life story, which
we can now pass on to future generations.
Since then, we've been regular supporters of the Hospice and in
November 2009 we partnered with artist Otis Frizzell to auction off
one of his paintings for charity. We raised $550, as well as having
a lot of fun on the night.
As a corporate sponsor of North Shore Hospice, we donate not
only money but also our time to specific projects Hospice puts on
throughout the year.
